Everything you need to know about earning Velocity Points with Star RV

How many Velocity Points will Velocity Members earn for Star RV bookings?

For bookings made on or after 9 December 2024 for travel from 9 December 2024, current Velocity members can earn 3 Velocity Points per $1 AUD spent on eligible bookings for a Motorhome rental in Australia and New Zealand booked directly on the Star RV website or app or call centre or in branch booking channels.

Velocity Points are earned on the total booking value, including excess reduction and optional extras. Points are not earned on bond or security payments or on ancillary charges including any fuel charge, cleaning charges, repairs charges, accident excess charge, claim administration charge, roadside assistance call out charge, tolls or fines.

Velocity Points can only be earned by the member when the first and last name of their Velocity membership matches the primary booking holder / driver on the vehicle rental agreement and no other travellers are entitled to receive any Velocity Points. Velocity Points cannot be split between two or more members.

How do I earn Velocity Points for Star RV bookings?

To earn Velocity Points, you must be a current Velocity Frequent Flyer member and also the primary booking holder / driver on the vehicle rental agreement of the Star RV booking. The booking must be made and confirmed on or after 9 December 2024. Velocity Frequent Flyer members must enter their valid Velocity Frequent Flyer number and first and last name at the time of booking a Motorhome rental on the Star RV website or app or call centre or in branch booking channels or up to 24 hours prior to the vehicle drop off date by adding their membership number in the booking overview section within their Star RV account (you can access your account via the Check-In portal on the Star RV website).

Please ensure your name on your Velocity Account matches the primary booking holder / driver on the vehicle rental agreement to earn Velocity Points. No other travellers are entitled to receive any Velocity Points. If you are not already a Velocity Frequent Flyer member, you can join for free here.

Are there any other exclusions on earning Velocity Points with Star RV?

  • Velocity Points earn is not available on “Car Hire” or “Experiences” booked via the JUCY or Star RV booking channel.

  • Points will not be earned on bookings that are cancelled, refunded, or otherwise fail to eventuate.

  • Points cannot be earned on bookings made through corporate, trade agent, travel agents or third-party websites.

  • Points are not earned on bond or security payments or on ancillary charges including fuel charges, cleaning charges, repairs charges, accident excess charge, claim administration charge, roadside assistance call out charge, tolls or fines.

  • Points to be earned are finalised at the time of your vehicle return. You can see the amount of Points you are estimated to earn within your account via the Check-In portal for your booking at any time.

How many Points will I earn if I made my booking in NZD currency?

Any bookings made in a currency other than AUD will be converted to AUD at an exchange rate and by a method reasonably determined by Star RV prior to the Velocity Points being allocated to a member’s Velocity Frequent Flyer account.

I made a booking with Star RV and did not enter my Velocity number at the time of booking. Am I eligible for the Velocity Points?

Yes, you can still earn Velocity Points provided that you:

  • made an eligible booking and received your booking confirmation on or after 9 December 2024;

  • were a Velocity member at time of booking; and

  • add your membership number in your Star RV Account via the Check-In portal at least 24 hours prior to the vehicle drop off date.

If I change my Star RV booking, can I still earn Velocity Points?’

If a change is made to a Motorhome booking, you will still be eligible to earn Velocity Points if your updated booking is still for a Motorhome.

If you downgrade from a Motorhome rental to a JUCY Car rental, you will not be eligible for Velocity Points.

If I cancel my Star RV booking or it is refunded, will I still earn any applicable Velocity Points?

No Velocity Points will be earned on bookings that are cancelled, refunded, or otherwise fail to eventuate.

How soon will my Velocity Points appear in my Velocity Frequent Flyer account?

Velocity Points are usually issued to the applicable Velocity account within 30 days after the rental is completed and the vehicle is returned to Star RV.
